They were best of mates, all of their lives
Simple men in different times
Lived a rural life they grew up poor
Never wanted much never left these shores
They had California Dreams
Of a city that never sleeps
They had Georgia on their mind
Travelling route 66
And now they’re going, to America
To take a road trip, through the USA
They’re going, on the trip of a life time
On a road trip, through the USA
They’re older now, with travel plans
To a faraway, mystical land
To the places that they hear in their favourite songs
The places they’ve dreamt about for so long
They had California Dreams
Of a city that never sleeps
They had Georgia on their mind
Travelling route 66
And now they’re going to America
To take a road trip through the USA
They’re going on the trip of a life time
On a road trip through the USA
Travelling an 8 lane highway
In an automatic cadillac car
Find themselves on a voodoo by way
Drinking bourbon in a low down honky tonk bar
They had California Dreams
Of a city that never sleeps
They had Georgia on their mind
Travelling route 66
And now they’re going to America
To take a road trip through the USA
They’re going on the trip of a life time
On a road trip through the USA
Dollywood to Graceland
Glamourville to wasteland
Hollywood to New Orleans
Like something from a movie scene
And now they’re going to America
To take a road trip through the USA
They’re going on the trip of a life time
On a road trip through the USA
On a road trip through the USA
On a road trip through the USA A A A

Hole in the Ground
04:35
|
|||
A commute each day into London Town
Train speeds me to the heaving crowds
The great and good
The ragged and dirty
The mean and moody
The bright and flirty
I’m going down a hole in the ground
I’m going down a hole in the ground
But it’s no Alice in Wonderland story
There are hundreds of people around
But none of them are friendly towards me
The city, that is above me
Has never looked so pretty
As it does in my minds eye now
And the picture, that is in front of me
Brings me back to reality
I feel alone in a hole in the ground
Swept along by this river of human life
It’s the usual daily battle, normal rules don’t apply
The doors have closed, we are about to begin
Our journey into darkness together
The city, that is above me
Has never looked so pretty
As it does in my minds eye now
And the picture, that is in front of me
Brings me back to reality
I feel alone in a hole in the ground
The great sites above me
Are being denied from me
The great sites above me
Are being denied from me
But now I am climbing
Up towards the light
Back on the streets of London Town
The city that now lies front of me
Has never looked so pretty
As it does to me right now
And the picture that is in front of me
Brings me back to my reality
I’m no longer in a hole in the ground
I’m no longer in a hole in the ground
I’m no longer in a hole in the ground

Indian Summer
04:14
|
|||
Going for a drive in the middle of October
Left our worries behind, going nowhere in particular
Sun is bright not a cloud, up in the sky
Gentle southern breeze …….and the temperature’s high
Out for a drive in the middle of October
Sign says park, we decide to pull over
Get out of the car, leave our cares behind
Go for a walk…… in the Countryside
It’s an Indian Summer, strolling with my baby
An Indian Summer, strolling with my baby
This day was sent here to save me
It’s an Indian summers day strolling with my baby
Out for a walk in the middle of October
Autumn leaves display, are so spectacular
Coy deer shelter in the shadow, of the trees
My baby beside me…….. wonders will never cease
It’s an Indian Summer, strolling with my baby
An Indian Summer, strolling with my baby
This day was sent here to save me
It’s an Indian summer day strolling with my baby
Couples picnic on the hills
Feed my soul, don’t need no pills
Buttercup lights up your face
Little giggle and a warm embrace
It’s an Indian summer
It’s an Indian summer
It’s an Indian Summer, strolling with my baby
An Indian Summer, strolling with my baby
This day was sent here to save me
It’s an Indian summer strolling with my baby
It’s an Indian Summer
It’s an Indian Summer
It’s an Indian Summer
It’s an Indian Summer
It’s an Indian Summer

Small Town
05:25
|
|||
Every day gets harder and harder
I don’t know what I did to make you treat me this way
I tried to talk to you, but you didn’t listen
It’s just a game to you to fill me with pain
You see things so simply
I guess that’s just the way that you are
Is it jealousy or just hatred
Or are you haunted by your own mental scars
I’m taking back, taking back the power
I won’t give in I will stay strong
But we are in a small town
Some times I feel the wall close in
So when the ring surrounds me and constricts me tight
I will focus, breath deep, yes I will fight
I still remember, the day it started
You called me over with a smile on your face
I thought you liked me, how wrong could I be
It was just to call me names in front of your mates
Every night, I hid myself in a bottle
To take away the fear, the hurt and the pain
But now I realise, it’s you that’s the weak one
And I won’t let you do this to me again
I’m taking back, taking back the power
I won’t give in I will stay strong
But we are in a small town
Some times I feel the wall close in
So when the ring surrounds me and constricts me tight
I will focus, breath deep, yes I will fight
Now I’ve thought it through
I know what I am gonna do
I’m taking back the power and not leaving it with you
I’m not leaving it with you
I’m taking back, taking back the power
I won’t give in I will stay strong
But we are in a small town
Some times I feel the wall close in
So when the ring surrounds me and constricts me tight
I will focus, breath deep and I will fight
I got the strength
To take back the power
You’ll never win
Cause I will fight, I will fight
I will fight
